Jarel Gallman, LMSW

Jarel Gallman is the Executive Director at Retreat Behavioral Health’s New Haven, CT site. Jarel's clinical background has emphasized cognitive behavioral therapy throughout the course of his career, which began at a children's mental health center where he started as a social worker and rose to become director of the site. He joined Retreat in 2015, first as a therapist in our outpatient division and in a brief three years was promoted to his current supervisory position. "What makes Retreat special is our focus on families as much as we focus on our patients," Jarel says. "We know that the family is an integral part of the healing process, so we do our best to include them in their loved one's journey as much as we can."

Roger Ayres, MD RPH

Dr. Roger Ayres has been an integral member of Retreat Behavioral Health since the inception of the New Haven, CT location in March of 2020. A graduate of the Saba University School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. Following his education, he began to train with the Yale-New Haven Hospital in Adult Psychiatry before joining the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center to specialize in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Today, Dr. Ayres is currently board certified in Addiction Medicine in addition to Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry. He holds over 15 years of private practice experience as well as complete knowledge of utilization management through his experience working with Retreat insurance partner Magellan Healthcare.

Ryan Guterl, LPC

Ryan Guterl is the Clinical Director at Retreat Behavioral Health's New Haven, CT site. Ryan graduated from Caldwell University in New Jersey with a Master's in Mental Health Counseling. Ryan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and also Certified as a Nationally Approved Clinical Supervisor. His clinical background includes working with adolescents, the aging and disabled, co-occurring individuals, couples, and families. Ryan's theoretical approach to therapy stems from person-centered and existentialism, while being proficient in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. Prior to joining Retreat Ryan worked as a Regional Executive Director in New Jersey and has transferred his wealth of experience to the Retreat Program. Ryan played soccer at the collegiate level and brings that same commitment, passion, and leadership to the Retreat Family.
