How do I know if I need to enter a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program?
If drugs or alcohol are negatively impacting your life and interfering with your overall health and personal growth, you most likely need rehabilitation. Alcoholism and drug addiction are both serious diseases that need to be treated immediately by trained professionals. In a rehabilitation program, you will learn effective strategies to stop using drugs and alcohol and maintain long term sobriety
Why choose Retreat?
Retreat Behavioral Health provides our patients with personalized treatment plans, based on the latest and most effective clinical and medical treatment practices. We provide medically monitored detox services, for both drug and alcohol abuse, in a safe and comfortable environment. In addition, we offer multiple programs and services that are designed to help our patients achieve long-term sobriety. We offer 24 hour admissions, 7 days a week with complimentary transportation to and from our facilities.
What type of addiction rehabilitation services does Retreat offer?
We offer a wide range of drug and alcohol addiction treatment services, including detox, inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment services. Our standard programming includes coping skills, 12-step recovery, relapse prevention, and the rebuilding of relationships. Additionally, we offer more unique programming to assist in dealing with issues such as trauma, pain management, co-occurring disorders, and loss and grief. We have special programs designed specifically for medical professionals, first responders, impaired individuals, and other groups.
What types of addiction treatment professionals are at Retreat?
Our team of treatment professionals include licensed substance abuse therapists, mental health therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and a 24/7 nursing staff. This team is managed by a full-time ABAM-certified medical director. Our multi-disciplinary treatment approach helps to keep our patients fully engaged and focused on their recovery.
What is a regular day at Retreat like?
Structure and consistency are a vital part of Retreat’s programming. Every day at Retreat, patients begin by attending their small group with their designated primary therapist to process and discuss issues or challenges you are facing. Throughout the day, patients are provided meals and snacks prepared for you by our executive chef and culinary team. Each day you will participate in a therapeutic and educational track group that is individualized and specific to your treatment needs. You are also provided a choice of holistic therapies to choose from. Retreat offers many holistic therapy options such as art therapy, music therapy, recreational therapy, equine-assisted therapy, yoga, drumming, culinary classes and gardening. On top of these electives, you will have the option to receive one full hour massage from a certified massage therapist during your stay at Retreat. When not participating in scheduled groups you will have time to meet one on one with your therapist, work with other professionals on site, enjoy the amenities and grounds provided by Retreat, or take personal time to reflect, relax, and refuel in a safe and comforting environment.
Will my insurance plan be accepted at Retreat?
We accept most commercial insurance plans at Retreat Behavioral Health. We recommend that you call us at 855-859-8808 and speak to someone from our admissions department to see if we take your specific plan.
Admissions
What Is The Admissions Process?
Upon admission, each patient will be given a full psychiatric and medical evaluation by our doctor and psychiatrist. They will also be given a full psychosocial assessment. Once these assessments are completed our clinical team, nursing staff, and doctor will all sit down together and collectively decide which therapist should be assigned to each patient. Each patient will also be placed in a specific track group according to age, drug of choice, and background information. We obviously will not be putting a 20 year old heroin addict in the same group as a 65 year old alcoholic. The nice thing about our program is our aftercare coordination team. We realize that the disease of addiction doesn’t end once each PT completes inpatient treatment.
Are You Dual Diagnosis?
Our primary focus is the disease of addiction but we are absolutely dual diagnosis prepared.
Do You Follow The 12 Steps And What Types Of Therapy Do You Offer?
At Retreat we do follow the 12 Steps and 12 traditions but we do not force feed this to anybody. Our program is very individualized so we offer a number of different types of holistic therapies. At both facilities we offer:
-Equine therapy
-Art therapy
-Music therapy
-Recreational therapy
-Culinary therapy with our executive chefs on staff
-Organic gardening therapy
-Hiking therapy (ONLY AT RLC)
-Aquatic therapy (ONLY AT RPB)
-Yoga and Meditation at the Beach (ONLY AT RPB)
What is the length of stay?
We are designed as a 30-day program but the insurance company ultimately decides each patient’s length of stay since they are the ones authorizing it. This is a battle that we face with insurance companies all the time. Fortunately, what we do have is a Utilization Management team here at Retreat. Their sole job is to advocate on behalf of each patient for more time.
Are phone calls allowed?
Patient’s are not permitted to have their cell phones on them during treatment. All patient phones will be kept in our safe. They will be able to use their cell phones to reference telephone numbers and will be able to make outgoing calls using facility phones. Patient’s are typically on a “Blackout” period for 2 to 3 days while in detox but will be able to make phone calls once approved by their primary therapist.
What are the visitation rules?
We like to keep the family and loved ones very involved in each patient’s treatment. We don’t necessarily have “Visitation” at Retreat but what we do have is family therapy sessions. These will all be coordinated with each patient’s primary therapist, who will reach out to each family member and loved one in regards to scheduling a family therapy session. If distance is an issue, then we do offer SKYPE family therapy sessions.
What about room accommodations and amenities?
All of our rooms are semi-private. There are typically 2 to 3 patients to a room depending on what level of care each patient is assigned. Patients will all have their own bed, dresser, night stand, and closet. Each room is equipped with a hotel style bathroom. We do offer laundry services free of charge. We provide tokens and laundry detergent for patients. We also have a cleaning service that comes to our facility and cleans the rooms on a daily basis.
Do you have an aftercare coordination team?
We at Retreat realize that the disease of addiction doesn’t end once someone completes our inpatient program. This is why we have an aftercare coordination team set in place. We like to have a plan set up for each patient prior to their discharge date for aftercare. We will coordinate with each patient and make arrangements for sober living and find an outpatient program suited for each PT’s specific needs once they discharge, whether it be at our outpatient program or one closer to home. We like to keep the family and loved ones very involved in this process.
What is the detox protocol?
At Retreat we will make the detox process as comfortable as possible for each patient. I can assure you it is nothing like what you see in the movies. The patient will be given a full medical evaluation by our nursing staff who is on site 24/7. We also have an MD who is also on site throughout the day and available 24/7. The patient will be given comfort medications throughout this process once assessed by our medical team.
